Here’s the blurb:

A man waits in Vale, a world void of humanity.
A mother vanishes, her disappearance concealed by the police.
A girl collapses, black magic invading her blood.
And a boy linked to them all must fight to save his family.

Earth is just one of seven worlds. Gateways divide the realms and those who pass through must earn keys, participating in challenges that will separate the fearful from the brave, the weak from the strong, and the witless from the cunning.

Sixteen year old Oliver Knight knows nothing of the other worlds or his family’s dark past. But when his adopted sister succumbs to a deadly curse the truth is revealed and he is plunged into an unknown land in a desperate bid to save her. However, a sinister enemy is on the rise and the danger they face at every turn throws those around them under suspicion. In order to survive, Oliver must figure out who to trust, who to believe and, ultimately, who to fear…

Happy Halloween!! Here’s to Goosebumps and R.L Stine…

Firstly, I just wanted to say that the cover photo for this post is possibly one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen haha!

But moving swiftly on…

In honour of the scariest day of the year I thought I’d talk about Goosebumps and the new movie (starring Jack Black) that will be out early next year…

goosebumps-142928

I LOVED Goosebumps as a kid. I used to have all the books which I read repeatedly so the spines were completely destroyed!

I also watched the TV show after school and to this day I can still remember the opening credits vividly!

R.L Stine is an inspiration to anyone who writes children’s books. He had a way of making his stories the perfect amount of frightening which brought this fascination to the reader who just had to read the next story and the next and the next.

The main character in the movie (played by Jack Black) is R.L Stine which I think is fantastic! The premise is that the scary creatures from his books start appearing in his own life and he has to face the demons he has created! It looks brilliant and I think Jack Black is the perfect choice to make this film a mixture of fun and frightening.

So here’s my question to you…which Goosebumps book scared you most?

For me it was this one…

To this day dummies still freak me out!

Have a spoooooooky day!

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child…Anyone else super excited?!!

J.K Rowling has written a stage show! And I am sooooo excited about this!

Here’s the description from the website:

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne will receive its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in the summer of 2016.

Featuring a cast of over 30, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. Written by Jack Thorne and directed by Olivier and Tony award winner John Tiffany, the play brings together some of the most exciting talent working in the theatre today.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be directed by John Tiffany with movement by Steven Hoggett, set designs by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Fry, special effects by Jeremy Chernick, illusions by Jamie Harrison and musical supervision by Martin Lowe.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender‘s Playground Entertainment and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.

Casting hasn’t yet been announced but come on who isn’t hoping they’ve brought back Daniel Radcliff? I mean, I would be running to the theatre to queue for it literally now – and yeah it’s not even gonna be out until Summer 2016 so that’s how long I’d camp outside for it…..
